Mega Darkrai ex casts a long shadow over the Pitch Black ETB. The set's marquee chase, paired with the hardest-pulling gold and Special Illustration Rares of the wider Mega Evolution era, makes this box a real draw for collectors who care about display pieces rather than just opening odds.
You're getting nine Pitch Black booster packs along with the usual ETB accessories — sleeves themed to the set's nocturnal artwork, condition dice, energy cards, a code card for Pokémon TCG Live, and a sturdy storage box that genuinely holds up to use. The Zarude Illustration Rare promo card included with each ETB has been one of the more talked-about pulls in the lead-up to launch.
For UK collectors weighing this against a Booster Bundle, the maths comes down to packaging and the promo. Nine packs in an ETB versus six in a Bundle, plus a card you can't get any other way and accessories that are actually usable. RRP sits in the £45 range at most UK retailers, and Argos, Smyths, and the specialists (Chaos Cards, Total Cards, Magic Madhouse) all stock them — though competition for launch-week ETBs in the Mega Evolution era has been steady, so preordering through a specialist tends to be the safest route.
If you're collecting Pitch Black for the long term, an unopened ETB also sits well as a sealed display piece.
