An ex Box built around Mega Emboar ex, one of the Mega Evolution Pokémon ex printed in Ascended Heroes. The set gave thirteen Pokémon the Mega ex treatment, and the three starter-line boxes in the range cover Emboar alongside Meganium and Feraligatr, so these three are usually bought as a group by anyone following the first-partner theme. Retailers list them by the range name more often than by the specific Pokémon, so check the product image names Emboar before ordering. Ascended Heroes is the biggest set of its era at 217 cards in the main run and 295 in total, which makes a small box a poor way to chase anything specific. The promo is the reason to buy this, not the packs. Of the three, Emboar has generally been the easiest to find at retail, which is the usual pattern for the least-requested of a matched set.
